If you are using word-press or have another website, any type, and have an ability to create a page, post or form within it – this is for you.
A simple SEO technique is to publish content. “Publishing content” sounds like such a big deal. It mean to write something. Something that you know about. Answering questions. It can be a lot of things. For example – Twitter – that is 140 characters of Content. If you are on Facebook – you publish content there too – via your updates.
Now, after you get it written it’s time to publish it – after optimizing it. Then the next trick is to get others to see it. That will be information for a future post on the Business dot paris911 dot com site. On to the show. First off – find a way to add a page, if blogging on Word-press (which this is), then create a post or page. For more information about writing posts or pages – You can go to YouTube’s Search engine and type in how to write a wordpress post or page. The differences between posts and pages, as some “blogging masters” say are “green versus non-green” content. Green – stays relevant from now to times in the future. Non-Green content is something that is for today, this week or has a time constraint and will change.
An example of non-green content would be me writing on our Santa Clarita Realty Blog about the current foreclosure inventory in the Cities within the Santa Clarita Valley. Today, there is a certain number of Bank Owned properties for sale. However, looking back to 2008, we saw tons more of the bank owned variety on the market for sale.
If I were to want to publish green content – I could talk about what foreclosures are and how Bank Owned properties operate. Those would be topics that do not change and will stay the same from the point I post it and into times in the future.
If I were writing Green Content – stuff that does not change – I’d want to, in word-press, publish a page.
If I were writing something that is Non-Green content – something that changes or can change – I’d publish a post in WordPress.
So, we have posts and pages. If you are operating a website where you can create custom pages – that is where you may have a disadvantage over using Word-press as your blog aka: “CMS – Content Management System”.
Therefore, when you build pages in a non-word-press forum and only have the choice to create a custom page – you may want to keep track of the pages you build, and when things change, go back in and change the information contained therein.
However, I will tell you right now, there is enough content to write about your business that you would write Green Content from today until the cows come home on your “non word press” site in the form of custom pages.
