When I was a LAPD cop, you maybe surprised to find out that the citizens which I served were the actual bosses. At least that is how I viewed it. And I will tell you that it paid off well in doing so.
Now that I’m a Full Time Santa Clarita Realtor, our bosses are not RE/MAX – my brokerage, but my clients.
Our clientele, those who choose to work with our Santa Clarita real estate team, are those I hold in the highest regard. This is because for using our real estate services, they deserve it and it always keeps me in check.
Plus, considering the plentiful referrals we receive from past clients, it makes supreme sense for me to look at myself as the Santa Clarita home buyer’s and Santa Clarita home seller’s employee!
When issues arise, we are there for our Santa Clarita real estate bosses. Even if we represented those in another Southern California city, they are still our bosses.
One of the major things we realized quickly is most people don’t want to work with an overbearing real estate agent who reminds them of a “heavy handed” dad.
They want truth, honesty and a gentle, yet direct approach to serving their real estate needs. They want someone who is going to be with them before, during and after the real estate transaction. They want someone who will answer the phone, who returns emails, and who utilizes whatever form of communication the boss would like.
When I’m not with clients – I’m answering the phone. I’m not dodging the real estate client. I’m making myself available and I mandate all of my team members do the exact same thing.
Real Estate is nothing that should be undertaken with a substandard real estate agent. There are tons of those and those will give you stress beyond the normal lifespan of a real estate event.
In closing, I will say that we always want our clients to be better informed as to the state of the Santa Clarita real estate market. We want our clients never to be left in the dark when it comes to the occurrences within their specific transaction. We always answer questions from the vantage point of our knowledge and experiences gained since our start in the Santa Clarita real estate business in 1998.
This is not to say that we are going to allow our real estate clients to be thrown under the bus. We give our advice based on our past history of real estate buyer and seller representation. However, after we have given our clients our opinion, we stand back to allow them to make their own decisions after they have been informed of the possible repercussions of every tenant posed.
The next time you are speaking with a realtor, ask them who the boss is. You maybe surprised at the answer.
