When moving or considering relocating to somewhere new, this question always comes up. The Santa Clarita Valley and Where should I live are things that one needs to consider carefully before making the move.
Good Day everyone, I’m Connor T. MacIvor CALDRE 01238257 and I’m glad to be at your service. Before I answer the question and it’s many parts, I want to guarantee to you that I am a Local Realtor.
I have raised a family in the Santa Clarita Valley. I have had my kids go to Santa Clarita Valley schools. I have been representing home buyers, home sellers and those wanting to know where they should live in Santa Clarita since 1998.
I also promise that I am not a Zillow or Trulia affilate. I do not work for Zillow or Trulia and don’t vouch for them in any way, shape or form.
I am also NOT a syndication website, like Zillow and Trulia are. Any person or persons that let me know whom they are when they are visiting my website are never passed along to anyone. I keep my clients personal and private information safe period! It is very important to me to keep anyone who takes the time to communicate with me via our Website – SCVnest.com, totally confidential. Now that you know I’m not a Trulia or Zillow affilate, let me get to the question at hand.
Where should I live in Santa Clarita
The Santa Clarita Valley consists of six cities, and 8 if you consider Acton and Agua Dulce a part of the Santa Clarita Valley, which most people do.
The 8 Cities of the Santa Clarita Valley
- Canyon Country
- Stevenson Ranch
- Agua Dulce
To get to the Santa Clarita Valley from areas that are south of us, all you need to do is head north from the City of Los Angeles. There are a few ways in which to do this if it’s your first time, I’d suggest taking the 405 Freeway, the 101 Freeway, the 170 freeway or the 5 freeway.
The 405 Freeway is accessable from the 101 if you are deeper in Los Angeles or further South. The 101 Freeway accesses the 170 freeway in Studio City/ Universal City. The 5 Freeway is the freeway that will enter into the Santa Clarita Valley on it’s west side.
The 14 Freeway is the freeway that will enter into the Santa Clarita Valley Cities on it’s east side.
From the 5 Freeway the freeway exit’s start with the Calgrove offramp representing access to Newhall and Stevenson Ranch, Zip Codes 91381 and 91321.
The next exit in the Santa Clarita Valley is one of the Main ones – that is Lyons Ave. Lyons will provide access to Stevenson Ranch Zip of 91381, Valencia Zip of 91355 and Newhall CA, Zip of 91321.
McBean Parkway is the next exit in the Santa Clarita Valley from the 5 Freeway and it provides quick access to Stevenson Ranch CA zip of 91381 and Valencia CA, Zip code of 91355. Henry Mayo, the Valencia Markeplace and the Cal Arts College are all within a few minutes of the freeway to the east and the west.
McBean Parkway is one of the original arteries for accessing the Santa Clarita Valley Cities and will take you far into Northern Valencia CA if you take McBean in an easterly direction from the 5 freeway. McBean will pass Henry Mayo Hospital and continue through Granary Square passing the Westfield Mall in Valencia. You will start to observe the well known Valencia Paseo System, the wide walking, running and biking paths that traverse the Santa Clarita Valley’s Master planned community of Valencia.
Continuing on McBean you will Pass Valencia Blvd and Magic Mountain parkway as the roadway turns from an easterly directly to a northerly direction and makes it’s way to Valencia and Saugus CA, Zip Codes 91344 and 91350 respectively.
From the 5 Freeway, you will pass Valencia Blvd and Magic Mountain Parkway. Taking Valencia Blvd to the west you will see the masterplanned community of Westridge – It’s wonderful and here are a few listings for you to view.
If you were to head to the “right” at the Valencia Offramp, you would pass the Summits and the Woodlands – I have also taken the liberty to show those homes which are forsale within those two great Valencia CA communities to give you an idea.
Both of these large, wide and well maintained streets – Magic Mountain Parkway and Valencia Blvd. both will get you to the Westifield Mall quickly with very few signals and 50 MPH zones.
From Valencia Blvd, you will also pass College of the Canyons, which will be on your right as you make the easterly turn onto Valencia Blvd.
