What should you know about Auctions in Los Angeles County

    Auctions are Cash Only.  When arriving you give the clerk a cashiers check for your maximum amount you can bid. They get your Santa Clarita REMAXidentification etc and you are on your way.  They start calling the properties that are going to be auctioned.  You should have had your intel done prior to the auction.  We have access to those lists – reach out to us if you are interested in having us represent you at the Real Estate auctions.

    Auctions seemed to be better “deals” in the past, maybe that was because they were not as crowded as they are today. Once the real estate inventory started reducing, we noticed that the auctions that we attended in representing other clients, became very crowded.  It is kind of like the show “pawn wars”.  Their business probably started getting much more “competitive” because of the TV shows and talking about the “quick money” to be made.

    Real Estate auctions are not “quick money”.  There are rehab time frames, eviction time frames, escrow time frames and time frames related to what types of offers can be accepted on “flip” type properties.

    The recon that is done in preparation for attending an auction is very time consuming.  We do a lot of the heavy lifting for our clients, but at the end of the day there is a lot of “trust” involved in this process.  I would even bet that more trust is involved in hiring a Real Estate agent to represent you at an auction, than in a regular purchase or sale.
