What is “SCV”?

SCV, if you are from our neck of the woods, stands for the Santa Clarita Valley.

Often referred to, by that acronym, by the locals and those that have spent any amount of time in our valley.  While driving around or visiting you will soon see it plastered on Buses “Think SCV”, in movie theatres, restaurants and entertainment centers.

The Santa Clarita Valley, aka SCV consists of 6 cities – possibly 8.  I say “possibly” because the most common held view of which cities compose the Santa Clarita Valley is as follows,

    • Castaic
    • Canyon Country
    • Newhall
    • Saugus
    • Stevenson Ranch
    • Valencia

There are two cities just to the north of the SCV that some view within and some view without.  I’ll mention both of them here,

    • Agua Dulce (the city limits bump into Saugus and Canyon Country)
    • Acton (it’s city limits bump into Agua Dulce and continue north to the Palmdale City Limits)

If you are searching on any of the internet portals for Real Estate in the SCV, you are not going to find much by that search.  In fact, if you are conducting your real estate search with the terms, Santa Clarita or Santa Clarita Valley, you will find the results lacking.

The reason for this is the Board of Realtors for the Santa Clarita Valley does not categorize any home in “Santa Clarita or Santa Clarita Valley”.  SCV is viewed by their computer MLS database as more of an “Area” than a “City”.

Each Real Estate listing for sale, sold, pending, backup, bom’d, lease, rental, etc., is fit neatly into one of the cities mentioned above.  On the other hand and besides the Board of Realtors, if you are looking for entertainment, restaurants, schools, and other “Santa Clarita City Information” – your search will be better conducted including the words “Santa Clarita” or “Santa Clarita Valley”.

Big and Small Business has it’s place here as well – I have included a few links to “the go to” with regard to local Santa Clarita Businesses.

Human beings still don’t think as computers – We are a bit more spread out in our approach 🙂

I put every property type on the map below – it is categorized by city – I included all of the cities listed above.  You will see the newest first Real Estate listings for sale in SCV – SCV Rentals – and SCV Leases. Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
