    Tip for those of you with a fancy image for your signature

    Business signature on emailLet me give you some insight from one of those who is on the top of the search engine results pages (SERP), for Santa Clarita real estate and other top rated keywords and keyword phrases.

    If you know anything about getting ranked at the top of the SERP’s, you will know that the real estate SERP space goes to only the top ranked real estate websites.

    Most are on the national level. The real estate syndication websites, which are starting to lack in transparency. The Realtor(dot) websites which are more accurate than the syndication websites due to permissions given by their trade organization. Above these “organic results” you will see the AD’s – where agents, local, national, etc, are paying upwards of $6.00 per click for placement.

    After you do your best to get a click, lead, or get that email from the person who wants to buy or sell a home, you send them a response email at some point.

    If your email only contains your contact information in an image, you are losing business. Most of the email systems have some sort of filter. They don’t allow for images from “untrusted” email addresses.

    The only thing that will be seen will be text, especially if your first response email was placed into the receiver’s spam.

    If you are one who has one of those fancy email signatures without any text, you may not be seen as someone who is available to be of assistance.

    Some email programs have the ability to format phone numbers as they appear on webpages and within emails. That allows the user to be able to click from their computer screen or on their mobile phone to dial the sender. If that sender only has an image representing his/her email signature, they cannot be dialed without the user going to some trouble.

    Another opportunity missed would be to have your picture and text not linked to your personal/business website.

    You can use your imagination for this link strategy.

    In some cases a link to your own home page within your website will be preferable. In other cases you will be better off linking some of the text to an internal contact me page within your website. Still other cases may provide more sense applying to having information linked to your about me page within your website.

    Social Media – Facebook / Twitter / Google Plus – those are also good places to have links going to contained within your email signature. You see the Image only has one possible clickable route or link.

    I then re-routed their “title” to their real estate blogs.

    I added the “mail to:” field to their email’s, making them clickable to open an email for simplicity on behalf of the user.
