I will tell you what it did – it gave our business name recognition amongst the masses when it came to real estate and when dealing with agents and realtors we did not know.
It was like “auto identity” We would have a dealing with someone we did not know, and then they would say, “Hey, I saw your billboard..’ Yes, for the connections in business – it worked well.
Today, with everything being online, and with us continuing to “tap out” than channel, print media, large scale advertising and more “traditional” methods of advertising are making a come back.
We are currently in negotiations with one of the billboard companies in Santa Clarita Valley and look like we will be pulling the trigger on getting back on the “big scale” advertising scene again by the end of September 2015.
Here are a couple of concept boards I came up with. With billboard advertising, Less is More.
You don’t want to have any more than 6 total lines of text from top to bottom. You don’t want any confusion as to the what the text reads. You don’t want any of the items to be blurred and at the “visual snapshot profile” should be long enough to capture the entire meaning, while on the road, with one glance.
Having a hot real estate partner does not hurt to have her on the sign. In this case, Paris MacIvor is my hot partner in real estate, and she has much better “curb appeal” than I.
Which one? I’m leaning towards the second, as long as the photo background can be lightened up by the billboard production company. at 50 MPH, that is 75 feet per second(fall back to my traffic enforcement days on the LaPD motor and having to testify against “traffic ticket expert” attorneys). I’d say a drive maybe have better than 3 seconds to take this in. I believe even with 2 seconds, it would be able to be absorbed..
The center message “For ALL your Real Estate Needs” has served us well in the past and does not have the “bloat” associated with other real estate “taglines”.
Some of my favorites:
Serving you because I cannot serve myself!
Your real estate consultant for life
We know where you live
Doing things for only #1 can do
Everything I touch turns to SOLD
Say Hello to a Good Buy
Love a lot? Call a Realtor…
Keeping it REALestate!
You can call me stupid as long as you call me!
Some are better than others, but all are self serving and create tension in my mind.
Simple is better. Then, at the bottom, in the white impact font, we have the “legaleze”.
The RE/MAX #1 Logo on the right. I may go back to the smaller version so it does not overpower the website brand nor Paris.
