Received a call today from a site called HUD seeker. The caller wanted to know if was interested in obtaining more real estate leads. I said, “I sure am” 🙂 .
The lady then told me to hold on while she brought one of their experts on the phone.
I guess she makes less, or is of a lower rank, than the person she transferred me to. I can also opine that the person, the one that I was holding for, has a more valuable “conversion skill set” that is not to be wasted on the generation of a spam call, such as this was. 🙂 .
During the transferring process, we were disconnected, so I went along with my usual routine, helping people with their real estate needs.
I received a call from a young man about 30 minutes later, he was the person the lady was attempting to transfer me to.
He and I spoke, he started to explain that his company has the number one downloaded app in the iTunes store for searching for real estate. He also talked about having the number one Luxury home app in the iTunes Store too.
Knowing a bit about how the search engine in the iTunes store works – I asked for what keyword are they number one for regarding their real estate app. He said Residential real estate. When someone searches in the iTunes store for the term, “Residential real estate” the HUD seeker app shows first. At the very top, I verified this while on the phone. You know something, he was right, it is number one(currently). He then offered up the same thing for searching for Luxury Homes, this too I verified – same thing – he was not lying.
I was happy thus far. The next question I had was about how many people were searching the apple app store by the keyword he talked about on a monthly basis. Because, in fact, that is what I would be paying for. Those leads that were generated by searching in the iTunes Store by that keyword.
He said the app is downloaded over 900 times a day. I said, that was not what I was asking for. How many times do people search for that term in the iTunes app store, “Residential Homes or Residential Real Estate”. You know something, he could not tell me.
I can tell you how many time people search for our Local Real Estate brand of Paris911 per month within the Santa Clarita Cities. I can also tell you where my search traffic is coming from.
This is necessary when you are not a lead generation company, but a real, local, brick and mortar real estate office protecting and serving clients in a very direct and personal fashion. Not selling their personal information in the form of leads. Our Santa Clarita real estate sellers, especially, demand this type of data when it comes to choosing the BEST local Santa Clarita Realtor to sell their home.
I think people are getting tired of asking for an app, product, or inquiring about real estate only to have their personal information sold to many hungry Real Estate Agents. I think people like dealing with the local Realtor in the local real estate market that they are interested in. In fact, I am seeing a trend where people are searching local systems and staying away from the Syndication real estate websites that are only generating income from selling people’s personal and private information.
Time till Tell, but in closing the young man, made the following comment when I abruptly said, “thanks for everything, I’m going to decline your offer.”
“Wow, just like that? Can you tell me what turned you off?” – I said, “I’ll do a write up about you on our local Santa Clarita business blog and you can see what turned me off…”
BTW – FYI, we have our real estate search system HTML5 and not in an app or in the app store. Just point your browser to our Santa Clarita real estate website and choose the “optimized” search. Simple, it works and it’s works very well. Any of your personal and private information, including your search habits, is kept within our strict custody, this is part of the Paris911 Team pledge to anyone using our services or searching with our Santa Clarita real estate search systems.
