The last estimates that I heard is that, in the United States, over 90% of the searching world uses Google.
It is a trusted name, and it’s become a verb – “Googling” is something that people do.
You can hear it in conversation and my kids have the information before I can recall it from my memory 🙂
It’s impressive that today, everyone with a smartphone, is carrying the world’s knowledge in their pocket and can access it within seconds.
How are people searching on your website? If you operate a blog, you may have the search system enabled. In this way, if someone types in a search word or search phrase, the content ‘best matching’ will render in the search results. And that is great.
However, I have something that will do the job better and will access any of the websites you choose to enter into it.
If you have not heard of it before, Google has a custom search engine. It has a cost per year. I think I pay somewhere around $100.00 – but it keeps our clients on our resources and everything that I have ever written is loaded inside via my providing Google with the URL’s of the sites I want inside.
I could even go outside of my own sites and enter in other websites that I think have “better or more accurate” intel. However, I don’t do this 🙂
I have had all of our real estate systems plugged into it. For Realtors, if you have an IDX system that indexes pages on your website, your visitor can type in addresses or MLS numbers and will see them coming in on your custom google search engine.
This is powerful stuff. They are using your website as the trusted resource, and they are staying on your brand to do all of their real estate questioning and hunting.
If you want to see ours – I have placed our Custom Google Search Engine on a simple page within our main website. I have also placed it on all of our blogs so people have access to every single real estate article and resource we provide to our clients.
If you are one of those writers in the world that believe in answering questions, regarding your business/profession, this is a simple way for you to continually prove you are the expert in your field.
Thanks for the opportunity to give you this tip and I hope you are able to implement it in the way you desire.
