Summer is here in the Santa Clarita Valley – Spruce Up Your Yard

    real estate

    Are you gifted green?

Do you have green thumbs, or do you create “brown plants” when you merely enter a room 🙂

My Mom could grow anything.  In fact, back in the day, we had something called a “butterfly” bush.  The leaves resembled a Marijuana Plant.  It was a Massive tree in our front yard and attracted more than one police officer over the years due to is uncanny resemblance.

Out with the old and in with the new

Summer is here in the Santa Clarita Valley Cities, and it is a great time to spruce up your yard. From waking up your grass to cleaning out your beds there is no time like the present even if your planting season has passed, you still have a chance to beautify and renew – increasing your curb appeal and “pride of ownership”.

While the dreary winter months may take an emphasis away from the exterior of your home the spring and summer months shine a spotlight on it. If you are trying to sell your Santa Clarita Valley  home, now is the time to pay attention to your yard.

    Raking is underrated

The best way to wake up your lawn and get rid of its flat appearance is to rake it. Raking your lawn helps loosen the dead strands of grass, pile up the debris that may have settled over the winter months and get it looking more lively in general. You may not have a green lawn for a while, depending upon where you live, but it will be more prepared to awaken if it is free of dead grass, brown leave and aerated plugs of turf. This is also a great time to take note of sparse areas and throw down a seed/soil mix.

Attention to the Flower Beds and Planters

How do your flower beds look? If you were on it then they were cut back and cleaned of weeds and fallen leaves last Fall. If not it is never too late. Cut back last year’s plants, get rid of last year’s weeds, turn the soil and rake up dried up any dried leaves and debris. There is plenty of time before planting and the sooner your beds are in shape the easier the process will be when the time arrives.

Even if your yard and flower beds appear brown if they look maintained they will make a better impression. Prepare now for better growth during the summer months in the SCV Cities. Many areas of the country are currently seeing buds on the trees and sprouting in the ground. Spring is a fantastic time to sell a home, when everything is fresh and bright.

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
