Slideshare rocks Bing and Yahoo – but there is a method to my maddness

Have you heard of Slideshare? If you have been following me for any length of time on our Santa Clarita business blog, you have heard of it here 🙂

I write about it often and have been known to embed a show from time to time.

Slide share for SEO and Internet page 1

I have to say, the more often I work with platforms related to things I am unfamiliar with, the better I become at using the “new”.

Slideshare was something of the same. I did not have powerpoint. You don't need powerpoint, but I think that presentations on Slideshare come off much nicer with using it.

I cannot imagine the money that was used to develop Powerpoint, but I would not be surprised if they are still in the red regarding development funding that was spent.

I signed up for Word 2013. I got the package that has all of the bells and whistles. It will update every year and costs me $99 a year to have the membership.

I did not do it specificaly to use slideshare, but I would of if I did not already have it. That is how powerful the presentations can become.

Another resource that is worth mentioning is the Camtasia Studio for Video Production. I'm a fan and I use it quite often. It has a “powerpoint” plug in. So, after I'm finished creating the show, I can do a few things with it.

I can upload it to slideshare. I can then use the powerpoint plugin to create a video for uploading to YouTube, with or without my voice narration.

I have attached one of our YouTube, slide-share conversions, for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully it will be as pleasureful for you to watch as it was for me to make it.

The method. Before I started using SlideShare, I was not listed on the first page of Bing or Yahoo for most real estate related keywords. I was, however, on the first page of Google (organic) for most real estate related keywords. (real estate related – Santa Clarita Valley cities etc)

After using it for a few weeks – I'm hitting on the first page of Bing and Yahoo.

My deduction is as follows. YouTube is owned by Google. Bing and Yahoo search know this fact. While it is hard to deny the number 2 search engine in the world being YouTube, they don't have to help them. They are still competitors in the end.

Bing and Yahoo have their own method of algorithmic alignment. They have their own processes and for whatever reason, even with all of my content and constant interaction on social media and writing more often than anyone else I know, I was not on their first page as I am on Google's.

Slide share was my silver bullet. PR8 – Awesome – powerful and what I needed. I have in excess of 300 more visits a week to our main Paris911.com website via slide share. It seems to be continuing to grow. Those visits are coming from Yahoo and Bing via my slideshare efforts.

BTW – google it. I'm not an affiliate (I don't even know if you can be). It works and it's worth it.

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
