I remember a time when I could take out an ad in a local News Paper and my phone would ring off the hook with calls about the home I had just listed for sale.
Then there was the Yellow Pages – while not publishing individual homes for sale therein – We did have our local Santa Clarita real estate business placed cleverly within it’s pages. This caused our phone to ring too – which is GREAT news for our sellers because we were attracting attention from the real estate buyers of the world searching the yellow Pages.
Toll Free numbers used to be great – but since the Cellular companies stopped caring where the calls are going to, as long as in the USA, now toll free numbers don’t mean much to most.
Today the thing that gets our Real estate Team’s phone to ring most is the writing of content. I’m not talking about publishing books in written form. I’m talking about publishing local Santa Clarita real estate articles digitally.
We are able to do this via posts such as the one you are currently reading. On this post you are going to see a Pinterest Photo that was shared from a friend of mine, a Canadian Realtor. He started the Top Real Estate community on Google Plus. With 4 moderators in the community, we have a lot of fun. We talk about what sellers are looking for and what buyers need.
We talk about our listings and with other local Santa Clarita real estate agents actively pinging and plugging their sellers listings in this Google Plus community causing escrows to close faster.
The Private Sector Home buyer is also on G+ – those searching for local Santa Clarita real estate as well. I received the following inquiry last week from a prospective buyer about a home that I had posted on G+.
“Hello Connor, this is Cameron. I live in Palmdale and I saw the home you put on Google Plus that is on Bouquet Canyon road, would you send me more information about it…”
While this was not a “I have a suit case full of money and want to buy the home you put up on Google Plus…”, type of inquiry, it’s still a better result than the Yellow Pages and newspapers once were. We have over 23,000 visits per month from people to our Paris911 websites. We have a lot of calls generated to our team about what homes are for sale and they themselves wanting to sell.
If your real estate agent is still behind the curve with social media and if they think Facebook is for losers – have them contact me and I’ll bring them up to speed… 🙂
