I received a very nice FaceBook message yesterday from Robert Mickalson. He is an Real Estate agent here in the SCV at Realty Executives. He and I talked about the internet and our different strategies that embrace Technology in Real Estate.
We also talked about some of the “don’t – s” that we see with regard to others that are trying to establish a internet presence.
Try as they might, it is key not to use any of the “Black Hat” Search Engine Optimization Tactics that will get you banned and blacklisted from the Search Engines.
He and I are not sure how many of the search engines change their Algorythims to adjust with the new black hat techniques – but we do agree that we are not wanting to find out by “Testing” what we have read on-line. We have both heard of horror stories with Google and once you are Banned from their Engine – you are pretty much without options.
The example that he spoke about has to do with Twitter – He gets Blasts from another Realtor here in the SCV that updates as he says “Every 3.8 seconds”. There is an Twitter Autoposter being utilized with one of the internet services. It is quite ugly if you are the person that is on his list and getting notifications every few seconds that are, in no way, adding Value to your Twitter Experience.
It is always refreshing when I speak with someone in my field that is interested in the “adding value” to our industry – Kudos to you Robert!!!
With all of the “noise” on the WWW – it is a wonder we can get anything done at all!
