Some of the most interesting things that we run into has to do with home inspection issues.
A few weeks ago, while at a home inspection with my real estate buyers, a home inspector’s foot and leg – up to this thigh – came into the room where were standing, from the ceiling…
Expecting that anything can and will happen, I did not flinch – I just said, I’m glad the rest of him did not come through.
The Buyers smiled and the Seller was running around as if someone shot her in the foot 🙁
I get it, I calmed her down and said that all will be fixed as if it had never happened.
And it was – within a few hours, including paint!
Most recently, the flooring came into focus. Laminate flooring and the issues with Formaldehyde and imports from China with Laminate flooring.
Was this the flooring that they were speaking about? Is it really cause for alarm? We asked the seller, and just for good measure, it was tested to see if it indeed was the “bad laminate”.
Unlike “Bad Santa”, it was not “bad laminate 🙂 The buyer was happy and wanted to continue with the purchase after the home inspection had been been completed.
Here is one of our Santa Clarita real estate radio shows that we produced recently.
It speaks about some intel we gathered from a local home inspector that I wanted to share. It pertains to the 60 Minutes release referencing the “Bad Laminate” flooring from China with high Formaldehyde levels.
