At least the work that has a paycheck attached.
However, now in real estate, and when I was with the LAPD, there are not many weekends that are/were free from work.
That applies in the private sector today as well.
The Weekends are typically used for open houses in the Santa Clarita valley cities.
Those Open Houses may be for sale and may not.
I always get a “what do you mean” question when speaking about the ones that I speak about reference to “may not” be for sale.
That is because an open house, at a home that is actually for sale, and at those that are not, are free. They can be used, as some do, to test the local real estate market.
In some cases, the real estate sellers mandate this. In others, the realtor will “pitch” the open house test in order to get the seller to list their home with that agent.
I want to now say, “morals aside”, agents and sellers do this. However, I am not in agreement with market tests such as these, I think they demean the real estate professional, and they cause havoc with an already sulled reputation and world view of real estate sales people.
Besides, when it the last time you gave your trust first to anyone in sales. That trust should be earned on the part of the salesperson and never taken for granted.
