    Santa Clarita Landlords will have to tell the tenants if they are being foreclosed on or not

    A new bill just entered the California real estate marketplace that is focused on the Landlords renting properties.  Senate Bill 1191 will make it a violation of law of the owners of real estate that are renting to tenants do not disclose if they are in distress.

    This bill is focused on the Notice of Default filing.  Typically a NOD, notice of default, is filed after approximately 90 days of non payment. The Bank, the holder of the note, will go to the court and file the NOD after approximately 90 days if they have not received a payment.Rentals in California

    This new law will make it a violation if they don’t advise the tenant during the “new lease signing”.  This however, does not have anything to with leases or rental agreements already in place.  To verify those, you will have to check with your landlord or a local real estate agent that has access to the Foreclosure Radar System.  With our FR system, we can let you know with almost 100% assuredly, whether or not the home you are renting has had a notice of default filed on it.
