When it comes to “downloading” apps – most people have about a dozen they use pretty often. The others, they go by the wayside at some point, only being okay for a while.
Real Estate Apps, contrary to what the app sales people tell most agents, aren’t as “sticky” as the salespeople will have you think. It’s been my experience that most of those searching for real estate and homes are not really interested in “downloading” a real estate app.
“Searching on their phone is one thing, but when they want to buy something that costs 100’s of thousands of dollars and takes 30 years to pay off, they are going to be looking from something bigger than their phone to do so. They are also going to be, in most cases, stepping away from the tablets too.”
When they are going to search from their phone, they would rather go to a responsive search website instead. One that offers the option to be able to search for real estate and homes utilizing a mobile optimized platform.
Apps Track Data Too. They keep track of you and your goings on. Personally, I don’t like that. I want to be free to do what I want without being “watched or managed”.
Maybe it’s because of my cop background. I have built all of our RE/MAX of Valencia CA Paris911 Team systems to include a responsive component to search for the real MLS listings.
BTW – some folks will download the large real estate syndication companies apps – but they soon find out that some of that data is meant to convert the user into giving up who they are so their information is able to be sold to agents willing to pay for it. That’s bad juju too!
