WSJ – Wall Stree Journal had a great article in which it talked about a study conducted that said real estate experience equates to a 12% increase in sales price versus a new or non experienced agent.
It boils down to referrals. We are Santa Clarita Realtors that have been representing buyers and sellers of real estate since 1998. I have to agree with the article – The referral part of our Santa Clarita CA based business did not start to turn over until about the third year of us being full time in the real estate business.
Today, it is the largest part of our business. However, even with that, we have not slowed down on our advertising of our brand and of our sellers listings.
I suppose that gives us an edge, in accordance with the study, Experienced Realtors have more skin in the game.
They are dug in deeper and have many more connections than their “newer” counterparts in the real estate sales and procurement game.
I have to agree because I see the seasoned agents, those with more experience and knowledge, ranking higher than the new agents.
In addition, I have also noticed, if a new agent hits the pinnacle(top in production) within real estate – they don’t maintain it for long. They tumble down like a house of cards.
To go from zero to hero takes a lot of work if you are not an established realtor with a cacophony of people that trust and refer business to their Real Estate agent of preference.
