    Paris911 Rant: Having to give up who you are to search for real estate

    Anonymity – remember this?  Being able to do something without giving up who you are?

    I remember it.  Today, real estate websites – local agents and syndicators are all about “conversion”.  How many properties does it take to get someone to give up their personal information so theirs can be sold?

    However, looking at all of the companies that call me – email me – and message me about how they can help me convert more people into working with our Paris911 real estate team, I have deduced it’s big business.

    Searching for real estate on websites that require you to give up who you are to do so, that chaps my hide.

    I know what you are thinking, “It’s only right, if a consumer wants to see real estate listings, they need to give me a chance at them…”  Oh, Mr. Agent – you are off base and potentially out of the game…

    What is this, 1987?  Is there only one place to get listings on-line today?  Negative ghost rider – there are hundreds of thousands of places to view real estate listings, if you include the local agent’s websites.

    Multi Million Dollar and Publically traded companies have started out and have almost perfected the task of putting real estate listings on-line.

    All build around selling your personal information to the agents that are paying big money for it.

    However, the case and point of this post is about “having to register” to search for homes.  I don’t agree with it, and we find out that we get more phone calls when we couple our real estate intel with the listing data.

    Real Estate intel has to do with giving information about the local community, the tracts, showing that we are local experts.

    People that are interested in Santa Clarita real estate reach out to us daily because we are not forcing registration to search, but because we are local Real Estate Experts and don’t require their information for them to search!!!

    They also know that our Real Estate Search systems are more accurate than the large “money making” real estate syndication websites.

    That is figured out after they ask about several listings they find on “other real estate” sites that appear as being for sale, when they are not 🙁

    Hating – that is not a good thing.  However, when it comes to real estate, there are things I hate about the game.

    These are going to be posted here on our Relocation blog (where you are now 🙂 ) because of my distain for “lead generators” that sell your personal and private information without your knowledge.

    Or at least “apparent” knowledge.
