Is Advertising Print Dead when it comes to Real Estate?

    Real Estate and Niche Marketing

When you are considering what home to purchase you will want to make sure your source is Clean and Accurate.  When it comes to our Buyers Briefings in our offices – When our clients come into sit down with Paris or I – They have usually picked up a Real Estate magazine downstairs in the Lobby at RE/MAX of Santa Clarita.

There is no problem with this, I am not the “publication police”. But it has a place for explanation during our Real Estate Buyers Briefing.  We explain that there is no “police agency” with the publishers for the agents stuffing the content into those publications.

The reason that is important for you to remember is that when you are calling those “toll free” numbers with extensions that are in place for each of the individual listings, your number is being trapped and you are going to be called back.

Another interesting side note has to do with the Property Photos and corresponding prices.  A agent can take a photo of a listing that is in the Antelope Valley that sold for $150K.  I said “sold” – as in “already closed escrow and no longer available.”  This photo and information with the toll free number or a website form page can be placed in the publication with a Unbelievable Price.  Remember – “If something sounds too good to be true – it probably is.”

How much is your Santa Clarita Home Worth?

I know this because I educate our clients to let me call as their Real Estate Representative.  I am their representative with all things Real Estate – They understand I know the Market, the Areas, the inventory, the vernacular and most of all the agents methods of Operation.

So, when I call and inquire, after introducing myself, there is usually a bit of verbal stumbling on the phone.  But only when they are attempting to place something that is “not real at this time” into one of the local Housing Publications in order to Generate Leads from unassuming browsers.

In Closing, there are those folks that have not made a decision whether to buy or not to buy.  There are those that have not committed to selling their home.  Those are the Browsers.  A Browser is a person that does not have all of the facts.  They are either not informed enough to make a decision or it is not the right time for them to do so.  In order to know what the “right time” is – you need to saddle yourself to a Real Estate Market Expert.  Be Safe and We will talk with you soon!!!

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation. Writing on their Real Estate Blog is a passion. is where you will find over 10,000 real estate articles. Go to to listen to their latest real estate radio broadcast.
