Insulation, even in a Santa Clarita Valley home, It Makes A Difference

home remodeling and construction in the Santa Clarita Valley cities

    It doesn’t get that cold…

When people think of insulation – they typically think of “cold” weather.  In the Santa Clarita Valley, it  isn’t often that we get to freezing temperatures.  And when we do, it ‘s not for very long.

We had a bit of snow a couple of years ago, and everyone freaked out 🙂 – that goes to show you how our climate is here in Southern California.

    Where is the skiing?

You may be curious about the Show – We can drive 45 minutes from our home to Mountain High and do the skiing and snowboarding thing – so we are close enough.  Then later in the day, we can head to the beach – the best of both worlds.

However, our summers – inland in Southern California, they do get hot.  Hot enough to drive the AC bills through the roof.

    Insulation makes a difference

Insulation, it makes a difference. When building or renovating consider your insulation carefully because the better the insulation the more efficient your home will be. While you may think of it as a way for your home to stay warmer, insulation has many more benefits.

    More benefits

Insulation can help with soundproofing, especially between a floor and the ceiling in a room below. If heavy feet or even the patter of your dog’s feet are driving you crazy from above consider having some insulation blown in to soften or eliminate the sound. This can be done with minimal interference by a company that has the capability of pulling up a couple of floor boards and filling empty space with blown-in insulation materials.

Another benefit of insulation is its ability to keep a home cool in addition to warm. In the hot months of summer insulation can keep the cold air in if you are running air conditioning. If you are not running air conditioning insulation still has the benefit of keeping the hot air out and the inside of your home as temperate as possible.

How do you know if you need it?

An energy audit of your existing home is a great idea if you are considering making renovations. Of course if you are building a home from scratch consulting with an energy expert is also a good idea. Insulation can help you save on your utility bills and improve your living conditions.

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
