I over used the process of adding Google Business Pages – But I received the antidote

As with all of our(us), “older” internet aficionados, it used to be that more was better.

In the beginning one could build a single page in their website that had keywords (the same keywords), repeated over and over again, and the site would rank at the top of the search engine results pages(serps).

Top Team of Santa Clarita CA RealtorsToday, that kind of activity is considered Black hat SEO(search engine optimization) and will get you into trouble.

BTW – Black Hat references the BAD type internet trickery to get one’s website or brand to the top of the SERP’s.  Likened to the villainous cowboys in the western movies – having always wore a black hat.

On the other side of the coin – you have White Hat SEO practices and you have Grey Hat in the middle.

I built a lot of Google Business Pages – too many in fact.

I did not realize this until I started to grasp the importance of keeping track and up with those in my circles.

Today, I have an entirely different view.  That view has changed because there is a lot of necessary upkeep and time to be someone that others want to circle on Google Plus.

You could be just a typical Google Plus taker.  Not responding to others, not engaging in the conversation and constantly plugging what you are selling.

Or – You can be someone that interacts with others and cares about what they have to say and think.

As for all of the Business Pages I created, I’m taking them down.

Because to stay at my current level of interaction, I would need to clone myself 50 times to keep up with those I have built.

I don’t even think my wife would care to have 50 of me running around.  Heck, she has a hard time with the one 🙂

You can find me on my Favorite Google Plus Community – the REC, Real Estate Community.  See you There!!!

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
