I’m not a doctor and don’t play one on TV – but I am a Realtor and have some tips and tricks for those of you who want to buy a home which is being sold by a For Sale by Owner Seller. As Dora the Explorer Says, “Can we do it? – Yes we can…” However, studies prove you will not make as much as if you hired a Realtor to get it sold for you.
Most buyers will be working with a real estate agent not a For Sale by Owner seller. They want the expertise their agent brings to the table and also their ability to keep them safe from getting taken advantage of. Home buying via a Realtor is at an all time 10 year high!
The yearly trends toward using a Realtor, when selling your home and not engaging into a For Sale by Owner play, is increasing. (thanks Keller Williams and to the Real Estate Trainer for the infographics – they were awesome)
Information services where buyers are searching have also morphed over the past several years. Some love the Real Estate App’s they can download. Just beware of where they are obtaining their real estate information from. The vast majority of home buyers are using their own Realtor’s real estate website to search for homes and real estate. If the For Sale by Owner home is not listed on their sites, which it won’t be, the for sale by owner home is missing the Lion’s share of the real estate buyers.
For Sale by Owner homes take, on average, 19 days longer to sell depending on your own real estate market and those local market trends. One of the items we can show you are the days on market time frames for the re-sale market dependent on neighborhood.
