Dealing with your Furniture in the Home you want to sell

    Furniture placement is critical. It shows off the room to it’s full potential.

    Lighting and flow are both very important.  All Lights being turned on during showings will assist the buyers in making better and more positive decisions.

    You can add lights, upgrade switches, and add dimmers at a very reasonable cost. Most of these changes are in the DIY(do it yourself) realm.

    Ask your realtor what changes you should be making to the home they are going to help you sell.

    They should be doing a walk through before the changes they recommend and one after to ensure all issues have been corrected.

    The more buyers the listing agent is working with, is also a plus in hiring the “right” listing Realtor.

    The more homes they show, the more of a handle they are going to have on what the buyers of today are looking for. Believe it or not, each market is very different, from the perspective of “buyer wants”.

    One of the questions we get from time to time from callers that have found us through REMAX, are concerns about how to hire the best listing agent they can, when living in a city in which we don’t work within.

    I explain to them it’s not as hard as they may think.  Back only 10 years ago, they would have looked at one of the local publications that had homes for sale therein. They may have also referenced the yellow pages or a newspaper. Today, the internet has changed everything.

    Search for Top and Best related to the city your live within. You can also search for Top (insert city name here) Listing Agent. Top (insert city name here) Sales Realtor.  Searches like these two are going to assist you in formulating your interview list. 

    After you have three or more agents sit down with you, the answer will be clear, I promise.

    Make sure of one thing. Don’t sign anything during the interview process. Don’t sign a contract and don’t get pressured into doing so.  In some of our humble opinions this is done best at the Realtor’s office. You need to see where they work and if they are working out of the trunk of their car!

    Interview the agents on your list. Find out if they have a Listing presentation and Plan to best market your home for sale. Ask about their “networking” ability and the local Top Agents groups they are members of. Find out how successful they have been personally and about the success of their real estate company/brokerage.

    After you do those things, you will be on your way to hiring the BEST Listing Agent you will be able to find.  Real Estate is expensive. It takes at least 30 years to pay off a home. While most people don’t ever get there, in today’s world, you owe it to yourself to hire smart and carefully.
