    Buyers are searching for Real Estate during the holiday season

    One view is that during the Holidays people stop searching for Santa Clarita real estate.  This is a prevalent thought because of all the “other events” that take place between November 15th until January 2nd.

    Search the Santa Clarita MLSWe are not seeing this as the case this year. When reviewing those that are searching with the Top Local real estate search system for the Santa Clarita Valley – We have some seen some interesting results we would like to share.

    If you are considering relocating to the Santa Clarita Valley or within it, maybe the Holidays are going to be a buyers “Secret Weapon”.  It it a time when sellers are wanting to get their homes sold so they can move on after the holidays.  They are looking for that “blessing” to occur and are hoping to get what they want out of their home that they have listed for sale.

    It is a fact that there are fewer homes listed for sale during this period of the year, traditionally.  We have seen this as the case since our start in real estate back in 1998.  However, those homes that are listed for sale do tend to move a bit faster during the holiday season, due to the lacking inventory.

    There are several factors to consider when it comes to listing a home during the holidays.  What is your urgency in selling?  Are you moving up to another home or are you in a place of distress – as in a Short Sale?  Time frames are the sellers motivation when listing homes during the holidays.  A Holiday Real Estate Seller, typically, is not concerned with rising interest rates or prices of homes decreasing.  When you get to the point of wanting answers to listing your home for sale during the holidays, make sure your real estate professional takes your time frame and urgency into your personal “home selling” equation.  They will need to address your concerns and questions starting with your personal reasons.

    509 people searched for real estate on the most recent Sunday – December 2, 2012 and 490 people searching on Monday, December 3rd, 2012.  All that searched for homes for sale in Santa Clarita Cities did so on our local Multiple Listing Service engine – access granted by clicking on the graph above.  Be Safe – Talk soon and be sure to work with real estate agents in Santa Clarita that have a Relocation service core.
