Being sued is not very funny – But anyone can do it!

Did you know you can be sued for anything by anyone.  What if I sued my Brother for alimony.  (connor is writing this one).  I could file the lawsuit myself or if I had a friend in the Legal Business – they could do it for me.

Do you know that it would be up to my brother to hire legal council to defend his case against me?

Sure, once in court it would be thrown out – But my Brother is now out the out of pocket expenses to defend himself against something so ludicrous.  I don’t know who would do such a thing – but it happens ever single day.

Is it up to the attorney’s to reject the cases?  Or are they just being hired to do a job and should not care about the merits of the case?

There is one thing I am sure of – Sometimes, people don’t measure up to the ‘ethical’ mark.

I remember when I was a full time cop – the lawsuits, for the most part, had to do with “after the arrest”.  Federal Court is no fun for anyone 🙁 – .  Even when you are released from testifying – it is a very “tiring experience”. – I would not wish it on my enemy.

The larger you get in the public eye and on the Internet – the more people are going to hunt you down and attempt to knock you off of your placement, job or career.  If It happens, stand up, tall and proud.  Most likely, you will not have done anything wrong – you are just going to have to weather the Storm…

One more point – these legal predators will mostly come after the smaller and weaker businesses trying to get on top.  If, for example, there is a large internet company (real estate based) that is quoting their “Estimate of Value” on a property that, according to their estimate, would appear to be more than 50 Million Dollars over priced, they are left alone – it is the weaker vessel that is gone after – Isn’t human nature an interesting thing…

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
