Being successful with selling houses depends a lot on how a Real Estate agent is perceived by their peers

    What is your own perception

In your private life, if you had someone you knew to be a cheat, snake-oil salesman, and just down right a dirty pool player, and if they were selling Paris911 real estatesomething, would you buy it from them?

The same holds true within Real Estate circles.  There are those in the business, like in any other business, that other agents despise – talk about – and who’s sellers listings never get shown.

    The “short end” delivered

Are the sellers getting the short end of the stick when it comes to listing with one of these “despised” real estate agents?  Absolutely, in fact, they probably got the “BEST song and dance” from the agent while that agent was wearing their “Sunday BEST!”

They may have even been totally outside of the box with their listing presentation, talking about “guarantees”, “I’ll buy it if I cannot sell it”, “Top Agent”, “Voted Number 1”, “Biggest Company”, “Best Looking”, “We have Many Buyers for your home”… – You get the point.

    Asking other Real Estate agents

Can a Seller find out whether a real estate agent is viewed by the Real Estate Agent Pool, at large, by asking another Real Estate Agent?  Forget about it! – Everyone you ask may tell you that everyone else is HORRIBLE and if you deal with them you are going to die a slow and painful death 🙂

Back to reality – Within Real Estate, we match with Society’s Standard of having 10% bad apples in the industry.  It is just that our 10% is very “LOUD and VISIBLE” by others in the business and the Public at Large.  Especially, when we have our clients in contract with the 10%, and they are attempting to throw their own client, our client and us under the bus at every single turn.

On the other side of the coin, if you are hooked up with one of the 90% of agents in the Santa Clarita, you will potentially not have any issues in selling your home.  It will be viewed often and it will be sold at the highest amount the current market will bear.

How do you know if you are working with one of the “despised and dishonest?” – Unfortunately, you will not.  You have heard the phrase, “Sheep in wolves clothing?” -It’s like that.

Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

May I suggest getting to know them.  Checking them out on-line.  See what they have been writing about.  Are they helping the Sellers and Buyers of the world with Valuable information or are they constantly SCREAMING ABOUT HOW GREAT THEY ARE?

Most of our clients being Law Enforcement of some sort can smell BS quick from the first point of contact.  It is GREAT to always be in “check” when dealing with our Core Clientele.  We are Blessed that way.

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
