Be a google ally and not a google adversary

Maintaining your online placement for your businessGoogle has the market cornered as far as search, pay per click, social media and internet presence.

They are literally all over the place.

But there are some “haters” in the world that attempt to ignore Google.

Some take the line from “Glengarry Glen Ross” literally, as Pachino said, “I say bet, the other way…”.

Currently, there is no other way. Sure there are “other” search systems, like Bing, that work well. I use them from time to time, but my focus is on the big dog which is Google, for now.

Maybe things will change in the future, and another upcoming and search engine will trump them. Maybe Facebook will create a search engine?  Possibly Apple will make one?  Who knows, but for now, Google is the King of the Mountain.

So hence, love on them. Use their services and make sure you link to the places that show you in their results, i.e. Google Maps.

If you have not gotten a Local Places Ad for your “real” business, you should start there(link at bottom). Tie that local places ad in with Google Plus and pay attention to it by responding as “that person”, sharing as “that person”, and linking to that Google Plus Page.

One of the things we have done recently, is built blog posts and articles with a screen shot of our Google Local Places Page and written about them. When you have your local business appearing on the Google Map Interface, by name, it means a lot to those that are utilizing your services. So we wrote about it.

Examples of our Google Local Pages for our Local RE/MAX Real Estate businesses are:

You can see some commonality, but the thing that Google Loves is the fact we have them displayed prominently. It does not hurt, it helps immensely.

Here are examples of our “google maps” on display with the links back to Google:

It only takes a few minutes, build out yours today with your local business. If you are not yet on Google Local Places, you may want to “google it” and find out how to 🙂  Google:  How do I get my business on Google Places?

    Paris and Connor MacIvor

Connor and Paris MacIvor are in the Top 1% of Realtors Nationwide, starting their real estate business in 1998 with RE/MAX Gateway - Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. Their becoming licensed real estate consultants and representatives came from the horrible experience they had when they bought their first home. There were many things that the agent they had hired did not explain and disclose, which per law he should have. Getting that agent on the phone after they closed escrow and after he had gotten paid was impossible. Paris and Connor called the broker, the board of realtors, the office manager and all they received was the promise of a phone call back. The remedy did come, but not as fast and in the way they wanted. That act - that bad agent was the reason why Paris and Connor became Realtors. That was all they needed to vow to never let the same fate befall anyone else, that befell them. Today Connor and Paris are focused on client service. Protection and top-shelf service with regard to their real estate clientele. They primarily work within the Santa Clarita Valley and Valencia CA. However, for a referral, where 80+ of their business is referrals they have License and Will Travel to other parts of Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County to handle real estate transactions for those who trust their real estate operation.
