And the real estate syndication websites are still HUNGRY for Agents

    Not so much a tangled web we weave – but the Real Estate syndication websites are always calling me and asking for “feedback” on their latest invention to get people to give up their personal and private information.

    I love to be asked permission. I like to know what I’m going to get if I tell someone who I am and give up my personal information. That Swoons me. It makes me happy. Full Disclosures – permission based and inbound marketing – that is what the “new marketed to world” wants more than being interrupted.

    I know this, our clients tell us this and both our buyers and sellers have been caught up in today’s “lead generation” con game that is Local Realtor have the syndication websites beat!!!being played by some of the Real Estate syndication websites.

    Some of our clients that have been caught up in the game that the Mega Real Estate lead generation websites play. Some are still getting emails and calls from the agents that are members, to this day!!! In some cases, we have met with, hunted for, written offers, had offers accepted, and closed on the real estate we had sold them 🙂

    Today on Google plus – Bill Gassett – a long time friend of mine that I hooked with on Active Rain, which is a platform I use to maintain contact with other real estate professionals that love to write content and tell stories on-line – made the comment for Zillow to stop calling.

    I know what zillow wants. It’s the same thing they want from me and other Top Producing Realtors such as Bill Gassett. They want our “types” to give them some coin so, as they say, “We can get you leads…” If there is one thing I know about Bill is that he has “Leads a Plenty”. You may ask, how is that possible?  Isn’t the only way to get leads to join and pay the large real estate syndication websites? Absolutely not – but the way of Bill and I is not easy nor is it for the faint of heart.

    It starts with being a local area expert. Writing content about the local cities in which you serve. Getting google’s attention and continuing to write, while obeying their rules. It is about talking about the housing market, answering questions without expectation of anything in return. Doing so without being asked and playing it forward on all levels, even if it means you are not going to make a dime off of your actions.

    It takes hard work, hours each day and many each week. However, at that level, there is no way that the lead generation websites for real estate can compete. They may have hundreds of thousands, and in some cases millions, of dollars to put toward content writers, bloggers and refinement of their real estate search and lead generation platforms – however, that is not enough to compete with a local and active Real Estate agent that write content themselves. One that does it every day and has a passion about representing buyers and sellers with real estate. Those types of Real Estate agents are always going to have business above average and those are the agents that most consumers/clients want to work with.
